Terms of Service
Last updated: April 5, 2026
LowFat is a free, open-source side project. These terms are short because the service is simple.
What LowFat is
LowFat is a lightweight, alternative web client for Google services. It connects to your Google account via OAuth and provides a streamlined interface for accessing your email. LowFat is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
Your account
You sign in using your existing Google account. LowFat does not create separate accounts or passwords. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
Acceptable use
Don't use LowFat to:
- Send spam or bulk unsolicited email
- Attempt to exploit, attack, or reverse-engineer the service infrastructure
- Violate Google's Terms of Service
The service
- LowFat is provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind.
- It's a personal project and may have downtime, bugs, or breaking changes.
- The service is free during the beta period. Pricing may change in the future with advance notice.
- We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LowFat and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. If something goes wrong, the source code is available — you can always self-host.
Self-hosting
LowFat is open source under its repository license. You are free to fork, modify, and deploy your own instance. Self-hosted instances are not covered by these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll note the "last updated" date at the top.
